How is the procedure performed?
The procedure is quite comfortable. Most patients feel like very tiny rubber bands snapped against the skin. But for certain procedures such as tattoo removal or superficial pigmentations patient may feel some discomfort. In such case, anaesthetic cream is applied to the area prior to the treatment. The procedure usually lasts around 30 minutes.

What is the downtime?
Fotona’s QX MAX It is a relatively painless and swift treatment. Most patients can resume their daily routine immediately after the treatment There is a possibility of mild flushing that should resolve after 30 minutes. With more intensive treatment, more obvious localized redness may last for a few days. For removal of superficial pigments and tattoo, scabbing will form which will drop off after several days.

How many sessions does a patient generally need?
The duration of treatment varies according to different pigments. Results will gradually improve after a period of several months, with a noticeable improvement after each treatment session. Most individuals may need 2 to 6 treatments sessions spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart, but this may vary depending on your skin condition or desired results.
