Wound Care and Dressing

The ideal wound healing environment should:

  • Be moist but free of excess Exudate.
  • Be free from slough, necrotic tissue, substance abuse and foreign bodies.
  • Prevent further trauma, for example, by adherence of dressing products or from external sources such as pressure or friction
  • Be kept at body temperature (37 degreed).
  • Protected the wound from external contamination in the form of pathogens, toxic substances or debris.
