The ideal wound healing environment should:
- Be moist but free of excess Exudate.
- Be free from slough, necrotic tissue, substance abuse and foreign bodies.
- Prevent further trauma, for example, by adherence of dressing products or from external sources such as pressure or friction
- Be kept at body temperature (37 degreed).
- Protected the wound from external contamination in the form of pathogens, toxic substances or debris.
